Here’s your chance to make a difference and to experience the pleasures that come with helping others! Volunteering with CAIR-Massachusetts is an excellent way to exercise our faith, work towards a better America, build your resume, and gain a wide range of experience. We provide our volunteers with letters of recommendation and proof of volunteer hours.

Internships

Political Relations Internship

  • Paid/5-10 Hours per week
  • May-August 2021 Timeframe
  • This internship is remote, anyone within Massachusetts is welcome to apply.
  • Working alongside the Government Affairs Director, CAIR-MA interns will learn how to navigate the Massachusetts legislative process by advocating for our legislative agenda. Interns will help establish and grow relationships with members of the MA House and Senate. Interns will also help plan meetings between State-level officials and their Muslim constituents.
  • Help in the planning and execution of the Muslim Youth Leadership Program occurring in August.
Responsibilities
  • Track bills and legislative sponsors
  • Help recruit volunteers for advocacy efforts
  • Organize and promote remote Lobby Days
  • Prepare materials for legislative meetings and events
  • Create and share social media postings and email templates
  • Assist in coalition-building with local non-profits
Requirements
  • Junior or Senior Undergraduate or Graduate level student
  • Self-starter with the ability to complete tasks independently
  • Outgoing personality
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfort with making phone calls
  • Commit 5-10 hours per week
  • Access to zoom and google chat.

Youth Advocacy Internship

  • Paid/5-10 Hours per week
  • May-August 2021 Timeframe
  • This internship is remote, anyone within Massachusetts is welcome to apply.
  • We are looking for a committed undergraduate student for the position of Youth Advocacy Intern at CAIR – MA. This opportunity will allow you to work alongside the Youth Advocacy Coordinator, Fatuma Mohamed, on statewide initiatives including the Muslim Youth Leadership Program.
  • Intern will be working closely with Youth Advocacy coordinator to plan, organize, and run MYLP.
  • Applicants must be passionate about civil rights, organizing, and advocacy work in the Muslim community.
