Noor Rahman
Community Engagement Specialist
Noor Rahman joins our team as Community Engagement Specialist after playing a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the educational programming for our 2024 Muslim Youth Leadership Program (MYLP), which she helped lead as an intern. A student at Amherst College (Class of 2026, insha Allah), Noor is double majoring in Economics and Religious Studies. Her academic focus on Islamic history informs her approach to civic engagement and community building. Noor has been actively involved in organizing across the Northeast: she has supported housing justice campaigns, engaged in eviction defense efforts, and advocated for increased access to essential services. She has served as President of the Amherst College Muslim Students Association and worked to improve conditions for Muslim students on campus through thoughtful, strategic advocacy. She has also held roles in the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, where she worked on housing discrimination cases, and she has worked in government affairs at a health care organization. As a senior editor of The Amherst Student, Noor used journalism as a platform to hold institutions accountable and amplify community voices. Noor is grounded in the legacy of Muslim community-building and leadership and looks forward to expanding that work across Massachusetts through her role at CAIR-M
